Notes Fibronectin receptor, also designated VLA-5, is a 130/150 kDa protein. The protein functions as a receptor for fibronectin and mediates binding of B and T lymphocytes to fibronectin. Fibronectin is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that functions in cell adhesion and migration in wound healing, embryonic development and malignant transformation. The fibronectin receptor is expressed on monocytes and monocytoid cell lines, leukocytes, memory T cells, fibroblasts, platelets and muscle cells.
