A series of recombinant human laminins as various cell culture substrate

Laminin is one of the extracellular matrixes (ECM) located in the basement membrane of animals, and play an important role for cell adhesion and proliferation. Laminin is composed of three parts; alpha, beta, and gamma chain, and 15 types of laminin have been already known.

iMatrix is the purified E8 fragment in α-chain of laminins, which has integrin-binding ability. Depending on cultured cell types, 3 types of iMatrix (-221, -411 and -511) are available as an optimized product.

iMatrix 221: For cardiomyocytes or skeletal muscule cells culture

iMatrix 221 is a useful cell culture substrate for proliferation and differentiation of cardiomyocytes and skeletal muscle cells.

This is a recombinant human laminin 221 E8 fragment protein which contains the integrin-binding site of the laminin 221 molecule.

 

iMatrix 411: For induction of endothelial progenitor cells from iPS cells

This is a recombinant human laminin 411 E8 fragment protein which contains the integrin-binding site of the laminin 411 molecule.

After culturing on iMatrix-511 and replacing it to iMatrix-411, endothelial progenitor cells are efficiently induced from pluripotent stem cells.
